studio workshops / special events

Each event is carefully curated to present thoughtful offerings that will nourish body, mind, soul while gathering community together. Try something new!

Strong emotions like grief are often stored in the body triggering a range of emotional as well as physical responses, like sadness, anger, nausea, headaches, dizziness and fatigue. Prolonged periods of grief can elevate one’s risk for developing physical and mental health conditions like anxiety, depression, and panic disorders, and can exacerbate pain disorders and GI issues. Yoga allows us the space and freedom to physically process the emotions that often come when we endure an unbearable loss. YAM has partnered with Nancy Watson, Yoga for Grief Dallas, to bring a series focused on allowing yoga to help us cope with the grief of life — any significant loss, not just losses due to others’ deaths — that seems pervasive these days.

This offer happens in two parts. The first 90-minute session will be an overview of how yoga can help us move through and process grief and loss. There will be some movement included so please dress comfortably. No knowledge of yoga is required. Cost for this single session is $35.

(Note: Should you discover that you’d like to embark on a larger process, the fee for this class may be applied to the 6-week series.)

Building on the foundation of the April 21st event, we introduce a 6-week immersion series (which covers a 7 week timeframe) focused on using yoga as a therapeutic tool to cope with the emotional pain and sorrow associated with loss. The 6 week series begins 4/28 and runs 5/5, 5/12, 5/19 pause for Memorial Day and resumes 6/2 and 6/9. Each 90-minute class might feature times of stillness, periods of movement, a mudra (hand gesture), a chant, and/or a guided meditation. You may opt out of any activity that doesn’t feel right for you. Cost for the series is $150

Sound Baths are back in session! Join us on the First Friday of every month at 6:15pm for 60 minutes of auditory guided relaxation with Christy Maskeroni Price.

We are vibratory beings — reacting to to the fluctuation of vibrations in our environment all the time. And, we have the ability to react in resonance with the most powerful frequency that is surrounding us. So, being in a room full of sounds and frequencies created to support a more optimal state of being can be incredibly supportive.  In this session, Christy will soothe you in the vibratory sounds from several instruments — crystal bowls, gongs, chimes and Tibetan bowls — all attuned to tap into a more meditative, harmonious, restful state.

“If we accept that sound is vibration and we know that vibration touches ever part of our physical being, then we understand that sound is heard not only through our ears but through every cell in our bodies.” — Dr. Mitchell Gaynor.

Come in your comfiest clothes and bring props you may want to snuggle in with or use those provided by the studio.

 Investment $35. Return: Immeasurable.
